PHONE AND INTERNET

Ukrainian mobile operators support the GSM standard. Check if your phone supports it before the trip. You can buy a prepaid phone card (about $2-4) to use mobile connection while in Ukraine. There are many Internet cafes in big cities, and many hotels, cafes, restaurants, cinemas, etc. provide free WI-FI.

HEALTH

Check if your insurance is valid for Ukraine before your trip. If you are on medication, please make sure you have enough meds supply or that it is available in Ukraine.

ELECTRICITY

220 volts, 50Hz is the standard throughout Ukraine. You may need an adaptor with round plugs for US/Canadian appliances.

WATER

If you visit Ukraine in summer remember that hot water supply is usually turned off for a month for the pipes maintenance. Most apartments for rent and hotels have water heaters for this case.
